Court documents show Kerry Kennedy had Ambien in her system after her recent car accident in White Plains.

The daughter of the late Senator Robert Kennedy and ex-wife of Governor Andrew Cuomo told police she may have accidentally taken the sedative rather than her thyroid medication.

She said her doctor's originally believed a seizure may have caused the July 11 crash.

Kennedy originally said tests found no alcohol, recreational drugs or prescription medication in her system.
