A new community center in Hunts Point caters to the needs of the neighborhood after getting feedback from the people who live there.

Residents and officials with City Administration for Children’s Services celebrated the opening of the "O.U.R Place Family Enrichment Center" on Thursday.

O.U.R stands for Organizing to be United and Resilient.

The Center offers cafe's for parents, financial mentoring and a place to ask questions without judgement. This is all based off of community input.

Neighbors got to choose what resources would be available, what the Center would look like and what time it would be open.

"What we really hope is that we will help to make Hunts Point a stronger community for all of its families," said David Hansell, NYC ACS Commissioner.

There are also Family Enrichment Centers opening in Highbridge and in East New York, Brooklyn this year.
