Police have identified the boy who was hit and killed by a dump truck in Queens.

Investigators said Miguel Torres, 11, was in the crosswalk on Northern Boulevard Friday morning when he was hit by the truck's rear wheels.

They said the driver was trying to turn onto Northern Boulevard from 80th Street.

Authorities said the truck didn't stop, but the driver might not have realized that someone was hit.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

"It's heartbreaking. My son wanted to know what happened and I told him nothing, nothing," one woman said. "Now he knows and it's heartbreaking. Yeah, it's horrible."

"It's a very sad situation," another woman said. "Holidays, you know. It's very sad."

Police say the driver was questioned.

No charges have been filed and the incident is still under investigation.
