Olympic swimmer Lia Neal is back home in Brooklyn with her bronze medal in tow.
The 17-year-old won it by swimming the third leg of the women’s 4 by 100-meter freestyle relay.
Neal and teammates Missy Franklin, Jessica Hardy and Allison Schmitt took the bronze, finishing behind Australia and the Netherlands on Saturday night.
Speaking at the swim center where she trains on the Upper East Side, the teen had some sound advice for young people who are inspired to follow in her footsteps.
"They should keep to what they're doing, no matter if it's swimming or anything they're doing," she said. "Nothing is going to come easy."
Neal says she plans to swim in the next summer games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2016.
