A man has been indicted on charges of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and torturing her for more then a month in a Brooklyn apartment.
Anthony Matthews faces 18 counts, including kidnapping in the first degree and attempted murder in the second degree.
The indictment alleges that Matthews bound his ex-girlfriend with wires, burned her with a hot screwdriver, broke her teeth with a gun and beat her with a wooden plank that had nails protruding out of it.
Attorneys said the victim was kidnapped from her father's Westchester County home, tortured in Bedford-Stuyvesant and then dropped off by Matthews at his own mother's home.
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said the woman was in some form of involuntary custody for about two years.
Matthews faces up to life in prison.
