Police: Brooklyn Man Attacked Spanish Tourist With Hammer

A Brooklyn man was arraigned Tuesday in connection with a hammer attack on a Spanish tourist.
Prosecutors say 43-year old John Charles Yoos faces assault and other charges.
Investigators say Yoos approached 31-year old Hugo Alejandre and his girlfriend Monday afternoon as they sat on a bench in City Hall park.
Police say Yoos began to argue with the couple and then hit Alejandre with a hammer.
Alejandre suffered a hairline fracture to the base of his skull. He's out of the hospital.
Investigators say Yoos and the victim had never met before.
