Efforts to bring residential-permit parking to areas flooded by stadium traffic are at a stop sign after a Department of Transportation study found there is more than enough on-street parking available in the affected neighborhoods.
At Yankee Stadium, the study found no neighborhood parking shortage because most fans use parking lots. And when the Barclays Center opens in September, it will have smaller seating capacity and even better transit accessibility.
The DOT said it will re-study parking trends after the arena opens.
The city currently doesn't offer any residential parking permits.
