After a series of violent incidents at Brooklyn's McCarren Pool, the city is taking steps to try and keep everyone safe at city pools this weekend.
The Parks Department said every medium and large-size pool has at least two New York City Police Department officers and two Parks Enforcement Patrol officers on hand.
Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe said the NYPD has brought in some extra officers to handle the crowds.
The recently-reopened McCarren Pool was forced to close early last Friday after an unruly group attacked the lifeguards.
A few days later, three men were arrested at the pool, one for assaulting a police officer.
