The family of a Brooklyn teenager who says he was hit by a school dean filed a $5.5 million lawsuit Friday.
A surveillance video shows the March 6 incident, in which the family of 15-year-old Kristoff John said he was pushed and assaulted by a school administrator.
John's attorney filed the suit Friday against the city, the Department of Education and George Westinghouse Career and Technical High School Security Dean Stephan Hudson.
Diane John, Kristoff's mother, said she was originally told her son started the fight but she said the tape shows otherwise.
"Look at him," she said. "He's like 300 pounds or more. My son is like 110, 112 pounds. You know. Come on."
The family said the teen was traumatized by the incident and now lives with relatives in Grenada.
A spokesperson for the city law office said the legal papers will be carefully reviewed once they receive them.
