Police are asking for help in solving a six-year-old cold case.

On Father's Day 2006, a 16-year-old Brooklyn honors student named Chanel Petro-Nixon left her home in Bedford-Stuyvesant to apply for a job.

She was never seen alive again.

Her strangled body was found a few days later in a trash bag in Crown Heights.

Police and community members have been searching for Chanel's killer ever since. There have been marches, rallies and stories on America's Most Wanted.

A $33,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction remains in effect.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577 or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
