The L train should soon get a lot less crowded.
The MTA will add nearly 100 round trips to the L Train schedule beginning on Sunday.
The additional trains mean commuters can expect an L Train every three minutes during the morning rush hour and every six minutes during the day and on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
New York City Transit said the changes should ease crowding on jammed trains.
"Weekdays, customers should expect an additional 16 round trips every weekday," said MTA spokesperson Kevin Ortiz. "On Saturdays, they should see approximately 11 round trips and on Sunday, seven additional round trips."
Transit officials say signal improvements have made the more frequent service possible.
