A Long Island woman was charged Wednesday with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing her daughter at a home in Queens.
Ann Carimbocas, 44, is also charged with assault, weapons possession and endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities say Brianna Davis, 9, was taken to the hospital in critical condition after she was stabbed in the head, shoulder and back at a home in Springfield Gardens Tuesday.
The girl and her mother live in Suffolk County, where Carimbocas worked as a hairdresser.
A neighbor said the mother had been having financial problems.
Police say a man who stopped the attack suffered a cut to his leg.
