There will soon be more room on the East River Ferry boats.

The fleet will add new boats that will carry 399 passengers.

The fleet's current boats carry 149 passengers.

The boats will run on summer weekends out of a new landing at Pier 1 in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The City says this will double capacity and eliminate service delays.

The smaller passenger boats will continue to run.

The City partnered with Billybey Ferry Company to launch the East River Ferry Service last June.

A one-way ticket costs $4.
