The Mark Twain Intermediate School in Coney Island, Brooklyn showed off its new computer lab Friday, which was paid for through a grant secured by City Councilman Dominic Recchia.
The lab was upgraded with new wiring as well as smart boards, laptops and iPads and attending students were very excited.
"All these iMacs. I have an iMac at home, but so many! My friends are like, 'You're going to be working in there?' And I'm like, 'That's me,'" said sixth grader Adam Abbas.
"The technology that we have now in this school is the best in New York City, and it's really a model for other schools can see what is out there, what's being offered and how it works," said Recchia.
The special "Reso A" grant used by Recchia allows City Council members to dole out money to schools in their districts.
