Five alleged members of the Bonanno crime family are now behind bars.
Federal authorities indicted the men on organized crime charges.
Government officials say the men engaged in acts of extortion, illegal gambling, and racketeering among other crimes.
Officials say until his arrest, Vincent Badalamenti was the highest ranking member of the family on the streets.
Two of the men, Anthony Graziano and Nicholas Santora, are said to be Bonanno captains.
A sixth person, said to be an associate of the Gambino crime family, was also indicted on loansharking charges.
