Police found a Brooklyn man dead in his home Thursday after he had been stabbed multiple times.
Sources say police found Melvin Vargas, 53, lying on the bathroom floor in his Lefferts Gardens apartment. They say he was discovered by his brother and the building's superintendent.
Vargas's brother said a woman visited the victim Wednesday night.
"The person that's responsible, I hope you get caught real soon, and you're going to pay for this dearly,” said Nezcalyz Vargas, the victim’s brother. “I'm quite sure there's going to be a lot of people that he had that loved him that's going to come forward, going to come forward to help him, with the money to get to bury him."
Police sources say they are looking to question Vargas's girlfriend, but she is not considered a suspect at this time.
