Just in time for Hanukkah, city chefs are putting their spin on a traditional holiday treat at the Third Annual Latke Festival.
Co-hosted by Edible Brooklyn, this year's event was held Monday at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Seventeen chefs competed for the title.
"What blew my mind was how much stuff people could get on a latke. I mean we had latkes with pastrami, latkes with pate, we had latkes with vegetables, sweet latkes, sour latkes. Tomorrow we'll have The Nutcracker and the ballerinas will be back and they will have to live with the smell of latkes, which is now permeating the entire building," said BAM President Karen Brooks Hopkins.
Edible Manhattan will have more from the cook-off on Friday in NY1's "Let's Eat."
