Annual Book Fest Celebrates All Things Literary
Literary stars mingled with fans and local writers Sunday at the 6th Annual Brooklyn Book Festival.
The event, held at Brooklyn Borough Hall, is the largest free literary event in the city.
This year's festival featured author Larry McMurty, filmmaker John Sayles and cartoonist Jules Feiffer, among others.
There were signings, lectures, and panels on writing and the publishing industry.
Brooklynites came out to promote their own books or just enjoy the literate atmosphere.
"I've been coming to the Brooklyn Book Festival since it started. It started around 2005, and my book came out last year, so by coming here, I learned a lot about the book business," said writer David Parker.
"There's so much for people who love to read, who love books. It's a great event," said Information Booth Manager Jesse Flores.
Related events took place across the borough this week, including film screenings, children's theatre and author appearances.
