Officials at the Brooklyn district attorney's office said Friday that Levi Aron, the man arrested in the killing of eight-year-old Leiby Kletzky, will likely be indicted next week on murder and kidnapping charges.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family continues to mourn and is thanking the city for its support..

The Kletzky family put a note outside of their building saying, "From the depths of our mourning hearts, thank you."

They put fliers up on their building saying they would not be making any statements, but they did meet with Assemblyman Peter Abbate Jr.

“They’re very thankful to the entire community, the entire city, for the outpouring of support,” said Abbate. “They have a lot of family and some close friends up there with them.”

Police have been collecting evidence both inside and outside the Kensington home of Leiby's accused killer.

Aron remains in protective custody under suicide watch as he awaits a psychiatric evaluation.

His attorneys say he hears voices.

Leiby apparently got lost while walking to meet his mother after day camp Monday afternoon and asked Aron for directions.

Aron told police he took the boy to a wedding in Rockland County before bringing him back home, then killed him in a panic when he heard about the massive search effort.

Police later found the boy's remains in Aron's home and in a dumpster in Sunset Park.
