The group Develop Don't Destroy Brooklyn picked up a win in court in its efforts to stop the Atlantic Yards Project.

Group representatives say a state Supreme Court judge is ordering the Empire State Development Corporation to conduct more environmental reviews of the project.

The judge said the corporation broke the law when it approved changes to the project that increased from 10 to 25 years the amount of time allowed for the developer to complete the project without first studying the impacts of prolonged construction.

Opponents of the project say changing the project could lead to vacant spaces, construction sites, and parking lots for decades.

A spokesman for the developer said they disagree with the decision, and it will not stop them from working on the project. According to the spokesman, they still plan to open the Barclays Center arena in September 2012.
