A Kings County hospital employee has been indicted in connection with the death of a psychiatric patient in 2008.
Easton Royal, 53, is charged with reckless endangerment and falsifying business records.
He's the first person to be indicted in the death of Esmin Green, a patient who was caught on surveillance video collapsing on the emergency room floor at the city-run hospital.
Green's family says she waited 24-hours in the emergency room and that no one checked on her.
The family settled with the hospital for $2 million.
Their lawyer says the family is pleased that criminal charges have been filed.
"They feel strongly anyone who was involved in the wrongful death of their mom, Esmin Green, or the attempt to cover it up should be held accountable criminally and they look forward to justice being done," said Green Family Attorney Sanford Rubenstein.
The Brooklyn district attorney's office says Royal filed paperwork saying he checked on the condition of several patients, including Green, but actually ignored them.
Two other hospital workers were arrested back in March.
