The Department of Buildings launched its seventh annual construction safety campaign Tuesday.
It started with officials conducting a walk-through of the Atlantic Yards site in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn.
This year's slogan, "Experience Is Not Enough," stresses workers must follow all safety precautions regardless of how much experience they have.
"We know that the deaths that we suffer are most commonly from workers falling and from falling debris on the work site. It's imperative that all workers practice safety every day and we're here to emphasize that message and that mission," said DOB Deputy Commissioner Gene Corcoran.
This week DOB officials are distributing posters, brochures, and banners to construction sites across the city.
