The Brooklyn man accused of using a woman he met through a Craigslist ad as a sex slave has pleaded not guilty to rape and other charges.
John Hopkins, 45, was arraigned on a 62-count indictment.
Authorities say Hopkins met the victim after advertising he had a room to rent in his East Williamburg apartment.
The woman reportedly told authorities Hopkins offered to give it to her for free if she would cook and clean.
Sources say she was repeatedly slapped, gagged, tied up and at times handcuffed to a radiator.
The district attorney says the attacks happened during a six-day period last month.
Hopkins' lawyers tells the Associated Press his client had a consensual relationship with the woman.
