Naming rights to attractions in Brooklyn Bridge Park could soon go up for sale under a plan being considered by city officials.
The idea is one of nine plans being looked at to offset a projected $16 million annual maintenance budget for the park.
The city is trying to come up with an alternative to a current proposal to build more high-rise condos.
The naming rights idea is said to come from Chicago's Millennium Park, where private companies picked up nearly half the cost in exchange for sponsorships.
Should the city go ahead with the plan, it would be the first time even part of a city park is named after a corporation.
The 85-acre waterfront park cost $354 million to build.
