Brooklyn Senator Eric Adams has launched a new multimedia campaign to prevent gun violence and educate parents about the warning signs.

In one YouTube video, Adams, a former police officer, shows the common places where children often hide drugs and weapons.

He joined advocacy groups for a kickoff event at Manhattan's City Hall on Sunday.

"We want to partner and empower parents that they too can play a role. The shot in Arizona was a shot that was heard around the country and we must respond to the noise of that shot to start the process of taking back our country, our city and our state from gun violence," said Adams.

Several billboards are being posted throughout the city as part of the campaign.

Adams plans to introduce legislation requiring mental hygiene checks be repeated each time a gun permit is renewed.
