The Kings County District Attorney's office is kicking off a new effort to deter sex trafficking in the borough.

The Brooklyn Sex Trafficking Unit, known as BKSTU, was created to combat the crime, which the DA's office says is among the toughest to prosecute.

The outreach campaign features flyers, posters, a 24-hour hotline, and public service announcements by actresses Sarah Jessica Parker and Gabourey Sidibe urging people to come forward.

The DA also announced an indictment against David Young for forcing a 22-year-old German immigrant into prostitution.

Young is facing multiple felonies including sex trafficking.

If convicted, he faces 25 years behind bars.

A court date is set for November 30.
