A 19-year-old Brooklyn woman has been arraigned on reckless driving charges, after police sources say she hit a man on a scooter while texting behind the wheel.
Sources say Nechama Rothberger was arraigned yesterday on a misdemeanor count of reckless driving and a violation for using a mobile phone while driving.
She pled not guilty.
Police say a 53-year-old man on a scooter was hit on East 17th street and Avenue P in Midwood late Sunday, while both he and Rothberger were trying to make a left turn.
The man, who sources identify as Tian-Sheng Lin was taken to Kings County Hospital in critical condition.
Rothberger's next court date is set for October 20th.
