Brooklyn's hottest new playground has parents scorching mad.

Advocates are calling for the removal of metal climbing domes in Brooklyn Bridge Park, which opened last month.

Critics say in the sun they get hot enough to burn a child.

Park officials have put up warning signs and tents over the domes as a temporary solution. But many say that's not enough.

"I can imagine if my children were younger and they came here and got burnt on it, I'd say what were they thinking building these metal orbs in the hot sun?" said one parent.

"The issue here is that these play structures should never have been installed on this playground," said NYC Park Advocates President Geoffrey Croft. "The city must start adopting policies that test playground equipment before they are installed. This is just negligence and there needs to be accountability within the city and with the designers."

The Brooklyn Bridge Park Development Corporation president says eventually a newly planted tree canopy will provide shade and solve the problem.
