Three doctors and a pharmacy owner were arrested Wednesday in Brooklyn on charges they scammed Medicare out of more than $90,000.

The U.S. attorney's office says the doctors billed Medicare for procedures they never performed on patients at their Sheepshead Bay offices.

Officials say the scheme began in January of 2005.

The pharmacy owner allegedly billed Medicare for medical equipment from January, 2007 to August, 2009 that never went to patients.

The cases are the work of the Medicare Fraud Strike Force, a joint effort between the Department of Justice and the Department of Health and Human Services.

If convicted, the men each face up to 10 years in prison.
