Dozens turned out last night to celebrate the life of a well-known rollerblader who was shot to death earlier this month.

More than 100 skaters turned up at a Lower East Side skate park to honor the memory of their friend Brian Scott.

The 18-year-old was a rising star in the world of urban inline skating.

Friends collected donations to help out his family.

"Basically, we're trying to raise money to get his tomb stuff together and to help the family with funeral costs and stuff,” said one friend.

"Everyone's trying to like, it's like a community, like skaters are a family,” said another. “And what we're trying to do is raise money to help out the family and if there's anything we could help them, we want to do it."

"They're very hardworking, so I know they need the help right now to pay off the things,” said a third.

Brian Scott was killed on October 12th when a man fired several shots into a donut shop in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, hitting Scott in the chest.

Police say the teenager was not the intended target.

Two others were also wounded.

Authorities are still looking for the gunman.

Anyone with information about the case is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS, by texting TIP577 to CRIMES, or by going to NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.
