Police have released surveillance video of the man they say shot three men inside a coffee shop in Brooklyn Monday night, killing one of them.

Police say the suspect, seen above, entered the Parkside Donut and Coffee Shop on Park Side Avenue in Prospect Lefferts Gardens around 8:30 p.m, fired several rounds, then ran away.

Brian Scott, 18, was shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Two other men were shot -- a 20-year-old in the shoulder, a 23-year-old twice in the arm.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly says Scott, whose nickname was Cosmic, was not the intended target.

"I was in my room, I hear boom, ba boom, and thought it was something inside my house," said Yvonne Smith, who lives above the coffee shop. "But looked and realized it was not in my house, and I ran downstairs only to see the big crowd down here."

Scott's father says when he heard the news, he rushed to be at his son's side.

"A neighbor came she said Brian got shot three times in the chest,” said Brian Scott Sr., the victim’s father. “So I ran out in a tank top, ran over there and showed the cops my ID, and told them, I said, ‘look, this is my child in there, can I see my child?’ They said,
‘No, you can't see your child.’ I threw three IDs on the floor. Nothing. I don't know, maybe I could have had the last moments with my child."

Friends and family held a vigil outside Scott's home Tuesday to remember the high school senior and to call for an end to gun violence.

They say Scott, a well-known rollerblader, was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Scott's father also spoke at the vigil where he called on the gunman to turn himself in.

"If you're out there and you're watching this, you should give yourself up, you can run but you can't hide," Scott Sr. said.

"This place is always crowded so in your heart if you saw what happened we need you to come forward -- we need you to say I know what he had on, I know who he is I know where he lives," said Community Activist Tony Herbert.
