Zach Parise had two goals and an assist to lead the New Jersey Devils to a heated 4-1 win over the New York Rangers Monday night at Newark's Prudential Center, knotting their best-of-seven Eastern Conference Finals series at two games apiece.

With the Devils up 3-0 heading into the second intermission, the two teams combined for 48 penalty minutes in a contentious third period that saw the Rangers pull to within two before the Devils finished the game with an empty netter.

Bryce Salvador and Travis Zajac scored the Devs' first two goals in the first period while Ruslan Fedotenko notched the Blueshirts' lone goal with five minutes remaining in the game.

After a succession of one-goal games over the first two series, three of the Rangers' last four games have had three-goal margins. They defeated the Devils 3-0 in Games 1 and 3.

Game 5 is Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden, where the winner will be one game away from advancing to the Stanley Cup Finals.
