Times Square bomb suspect Faisal Shahzad has agreed to let the federal government delay seeking an indictment while his lawyer continues discussions with prosecutors. This, as he faces more trouble at his former home.
According to paperwork released Wednesday, federal prosecutors can delay the indictment until June 21st while they figure out how to approach the charges against him.
Authorities say Shahzad cooperated for two weeks before he asked for a lawyer.
The news comes as authorities in Connecticut say Shahzad is about to lose his home to foreclosure.
According to local media reports in Connecticut, he has been ordered to make $200,000 in mortgage payments by July 31st.
Officials say he stopped making payments to his Shelton home a year ago, which is about the same time investigators say Shahzad left for Pakistan to begin terror training.
Shahzad was arrested two days after he left an SUV loaded with explosives parked in Times Square.
The Pakistan-born U.S. citizen is charged with attempted use of weapons of mass destruction and attempted acts of terrorism.
