Details are shrouded in secrecy, but in the small town of Rhinebeck, N.Y., preparations are believed to be well underway for Chelsea Clinton's wedding to investment banker Marc Mezvinsky.

Former President Bill Clinton arrived in Rhinebeck this afternoon. He checked into the Beekman Arms, where guests are expected to stay, and then headed to a nearby restaurant for lunch. As he walked down the street, Clinton greeted onlookers and answered some questions posted by onlookers.

"She looks beautiful every day to me," said the former president as to whether his daughter would look beautiful at the wedding.

Up until now, the Clintons have not confirmed nor denied that the town was the site of this weekend's ceremony.

Dozens of stores and businesses are displaying signs wishing the couple well and a row of limousines have lined up in front of an inn where guests are expected to stay.

Secret Service agents have been seen in Rhinebeck, and the Federal Aviation Administration has created a no-fly zone along the Hudson River from tomorrow until Sunday, citing VIP movement.

"We're not like England, we don't have a royal family,” said one Rhinebeck resident. “And anybody who's been in the White House has been considered that and will always be considered that and I think that's beautiful."

"We watched her, you know, grow up from this sort of gawky teenager into a really beautiful woman and someone who can stand on her own,” said another.

"She's the president's daughter. She's the daughter of the secretary of state. She grew up in the limelight, she's the same age more or less as some of my kids and it's a great thing,” said a third. “She sort of belongs to all of us."

While nothing has been confirmed, the ceremony is expected to be held at the posh Astor Court Estate, followed by a fireworks show over the river.

The guest listed is rumored to be close to 500 people – including A-listers like Barbara Streisand, Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey.
