NY1 VIDEO: After percolating in the media for years, allegations of ethics violations against Representative Charles Rangel came to a head on July 29, 2010. On that day, the House Ethics Committee charged Rangel with 13 counts of violations of federal law and Congressional rules. NY1 political reporter Grace Rauh was in Washington DC when the charges came down and filed the following report.

NY1 FOLLOW-UP: Rangel was ultimately found guilty of 11 of his original 13 charges by the House ethics panel. Following the panel's decision, the House voted to censure Rangel, the most serious reprimand, short of expulsion, in Congress. He is the 23rd representative who has been censured in the history of the House.
