State agencies are making a few changes to better reflect the diverse population they serve, by offering services in six languages other than English.

Governor Andrew Cuomo says the state agencies can now offer and explain services in Spanish, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Korean and Haitian Creole.

It is in an effort to help the 2.5 million New York State residents who are not proficient in English.

Additional languages will be considered every two years.

Immigrants make up more than a third of the city's population and nearly half the workforce.
