It was a record year at the Broadway box office.
Theatergoers shelled out a record $1.14 billion on tickets this past season.
Attendance was flat so the increase in receipts reflects higher ticket prices.
The Broadway League says shows brought in 5.4 percent more than last season and total attendance was over 12 million.
During this season, which began May 30 of last year and ended on Sunday, 40 new shows opened including 14 musicals, 23 plays and three specials.
