Celebrate Asian Heritage Month with Pan Asian Repertory Theatre's new production "RANGOON ." The play follows an Indian family who comes to the U.S. from Burma. It runs now through June 17 at The Clurman Theatre, located at 410 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues. Tickets are $51.
12th Annual New York Indian Film Festival

Also in celebration of Asian Heritage Month, check out the 12th annual New York Indian Film Festival. It takes place now through Sunday at the Tribeca Cinemas in lower Manhattan. This is an exciting year because it also marks the 100th anniversary of Indian cinema. The festival is presented by the The Indo-American Arts Council. The theater is located at 54 Varick St (at the corner of Laight Street, one block west of Canal Street). Tickets are $15.
The Black Rock Coalition Orchestra - Don Cornelius Tribute

On Saturday night, head to to BAMcafe to hear The Black Rock Coalition Orchestra pay tribute to the late Don Cornelius, the creator an host of Soul Train. Hear songs from the vast Soul Train catalog. It starts at 10 p.m. A dance party follows, naturally with a soul train theme. The event is free.

This weekend, fans of the artist Delavega who miss seeing his work at his now-closed gallery can head to Big Apple Art Gallery to see a family friendly selection of the artist's works.
