Eight Coney Island businesses evicted from the boardwalk could reportedly resurface at nearby sites.

The New York Post says the city is looking into whether four furniture stores a block from the boardwalk should be allowed to stay on such prime real estate.

The paper says a local activist recently questioned whether the furniture stores are legal under the city's zoning laws, and wants them removed to make way for the evicted businesses.

The eight businesses were told recently by new landlord Zamperla USA that they would not be invited back to the boardwalk next summer.

NY1 has learned the businesses have met with State Senator Carl Kruger to find a way for them to stay in the area.

There is no comment yet from Zamperla or City Hall.
