NY1's weekly segment "Your Weekend Starts Now" shows entertaining picks for great things to do this weekend all around the city. NY1's Stephanie Simon filed the following report.

NYC Ballet
The New York City Ballet celebrates the beauty of Balanchine and Tschaikovsky at the Koch Theater. The fall season is heating up and it includes several great all Balanchine programs plus premieres of new works. Tickets start around $30. The season continues through October 19.

Museum of the Moving Image Presents "A Memory of Astoria"
At the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, in addition to everything else you can see about movies, TV and other media—now you can also check out this new panoramic video installation. It's called "A Memory of Astoria" by New York-based artist Ezra Wube. It's an impressionistic interpretation of the blocks surrounding the museum.

Black Radical Brooklyn
Learn the history of Black Self Determination at the Weeksville Heritage Center in Crown Height Brooklyn and see how contemporary artists are connecting the dots to bring the history to the present day with a walking tours this weekend and next. The public art project is called "Funk, God, Jazz, Medicine: Black Radical Brooklyn."

Target First Saturdays at the Brooklyn Museum
If you've never been, Target First Saturdays each month at the Brooklyn Museum is always fantastic. From late afternoon to 11 p.m. it's a full schedule of live music, art projects, film screenings and more. The Saturday the focus is Hispanic culture and includes several performances including Grammy winner Arturo O'farrill playing with his ensemble and his youth orchestra.

An Afternoon of Comedy & Music
Elvis Tribute Artist Frank James leads "An Afternoon of Comedy & Music" Sunday at the Music Hall at Snug Harbor Cultural Center. Tickets start at $35.

Celebrity Karaoke with Broadway Stars
