Police have released a disturbing surveillance video of a man trying to sexually assault a woman in her own Brooklyn home.

The New York City Police Department says the man knocked on the victim's door early Thursday morning.

When she opened the door, the man grabbed her and police say tried to rape her.

Authorities say he ran off when a relative walked in.

Investigators say the attack happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday along 16th Street in Park Slope.

The suspect is said to be in his 40s, about 5'8" tall and weighing 170 pounds.

Meanwhile, police are hoping new surveillance video will help catch a man who they say groped a 22-year-old woman in the same area earlier this week.

Investigators say the attack happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday along 16th Street in Park Slope.

The video shows the man walking on Fourth Avenue before heading down into the Prospect Avenue R train station on the Manhattan and Queens-bound side.

Police are looking for a man thought to be in his 40s, 5'4" tall, and weighing about 140 pounds.

There's no word on whether the two incidents are connected.
